As well as your blog posts you can populate your site with static pages. These pages can contain any content that you want on your website, including images from your Media Library, links to other sites, or links to other forms of content.

Pages will appear in your Menu Bar. Go to Appearance – Customise – Menus to control the sequence and structure of your pages. You can add new pages, reorder your pages, and make some pages subordinate to others. These subpages will only appear in he menu when you hover your cursor over the menu item they are subordinate to.

Links Here I show how you can provide a link to content held in a file, in this case a PDF, that is held in your media library. You need to know the URL of the file. If you open the file in the Media Library you will be able to see and copy the URL. The select the word in your text that you wish to represent the link, click the link symbol in the top toolbar (if the toolbar isn’t visible make it so from the three dots menu), and paste the link in the box provided. You can also choose whether the file is presented in a new tab or not.

Image Block Use a / at the start of a new block to bring up a list of block types, and select Image. You get three choices, to upload a file, select it from the media library, or insert from URL. Upload and select are limited to pictures, and Insert from URL places the file content into your Post or Page. See the Some Pictures sub-page for examples of images in an image block.

Remember before you ‘go live’ you should delete this Page and create new Pages for your content. And don’t forget to update your Menu. Have fun!
